The headquarters of NanoSiliCal Devices is housed, together with other ones, within an area of the Department of Pharmacy and Health and Nutritional Sciences, committed to technology transfer. The laboratories are provided of all instruments for the production of chemical and physical tests: vacuum systems for solvents distillation, various workspaces for the preparation of the nano-and microparticles, for their chemical modification, for infrared spectrophotometry and for thermogravimetric analysis, in order to test the results of the chemical modification processes and the removal of surfactant from the materials.
The laboratories are also equipped for biological and molecular tests carrying out:
- laminar flow-hoods, inverted and fluorescence microscopes, cell culture incubators;
- spectrophotometer, luminometer, PCR and electrophoresis units for nucleic acids and proteins analysis, respectively;
- centrifuges, sonication and thermostatic baths, fume hoods, refrigerators, freezers (-20 °C and -80 °C) and cryo-preservation systems in liquid nitrogen.
Our Laboratory NanoSiliCal Device also collaborates with the Dept. Of Surgery and Translational Medicine (DCMT) of University of Milano Bicocca .
